Laurence T. Bufo graduated from University College Falmouth in 1989. Despite having built a formidable reputation as a photographer he felt encumbered by what he saw as the pomposity of the art establishment. It was if even the omnipresent Atlantic breeze was stifled by it, he once told a Guardian journalist.

After years of truth-seeking Bufo was invited by fellow artist James Wallbank to take up the position of artist in residence at Access Space, in Sheffield. It was here that Bufo met Carlos Barcode and became instrumental in the formulation of the ideology known as Deedahism.

While Barcode, Withington and others became increasingly interested in proto-Anarchosimianism, Bufo navigated a lonely course fascinated by the super-mundane which eventually led to the nurturing of Pandeedahism.

Today Bufo lives with his cat, Boris, and is still as prolific as ever.
